Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State has once again vowed to pick the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket and as well go ahead to defeat President Goodluck Jonathan in next year’s election.
Kwankwaso told newsmen in Kano yesterday that delegates of the party were solidly behind him.
“As a first time presidential aspirant, I started from zero level, we are growing everyday and the tide is on our side. Things are working according to plan.
“We are succeeding by the days and I’m very happy and comfortable with our campaigns. We are getting more and more people, especially the delegates across the country. I’m not surprised because we have been in the system for some time.
“We are contesting at the right time when Nigerians really require people who can handle the affairs of the country so that we can get out of this mess this country has found itself,” he said.
On his running mate, he said: “There are so many suggestions from everywhere but the party will play a very significant role for us to come up with the right person.”
Speaking on who succeeds him as Kano governor, he said: “Very soon we will meet and take the decision. You don’t cross the river when you are far away from it. Now we are at the river bank and soon we will cross it.
“Maybe tomorrow or so we will tell you our own choice but that does not make it the choice of the APC. Anybody who wants to buy form can do so and we will go for the primary election”
