President Jonathan condoles family of late Minister of Foreign Affairs

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has received with much sadness, news of the death of former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru, yesterday in South Africa.
President Jonathan extends sincerest condolences to Ambassador Ashiru’s wife, children, other relatives, friends, associates, former colleagues and staff of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs as they mourn the exemplary diplomat who gave the most productive years of his adult life to the patriotic service of his nation.

The President assures them all of the fullest sympathy, solidarity and support of the Federal Government as they mourn Ambassador Ashiru who will also be long remembered and honoured as one of the very elite few, who after a long and very distinguished career as a Foreign Service Officer in the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was recalled from retirement to serve as Minister and political head of the same ministry in recognition of his widely acknowledged leadership qualities and diplomatic skills.

Nigeria, President Jonathan believes, will always owe the late Minister a huge debt of gratitude for his notable contributions, over many years, to the establishment of mutually-beneficial relationships with other countries where he served as diplomat and ambassador, and for the country’s many diplomatic successes in the international arena during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The President prays that God Almighty will comfort all who mourn Ambassador Ashiru and grant his gentle soul peaceful and eternal rest.

Teen missing for four years found alive

A 13-year-old boy who had been reported missing four years ago was discovered alive, hidden behind a fake wall of a house near Atlanta, Georgia, and reunited with his mother early on Saturday, police said.
Five people living in the house in Jonesboro, 28 kilometres south of Atlanta, were taken into custody, among them the boy's father, Gregory Jean, 37, and an adult female, said Sergeant Kevin Hughes of the Clayton County police.

Mr Jean and Samantha Joy Davis, 42, face charges of false imprisonment, cruelty to children and obstructing an officer, he said, adding that three juveniles also in the home were facing obstruction charges.
The boy's mother had apparently reported him missing to child welfare but not police, and no missing person's report was filed in Clayton County, Sergeant Hughes said.
The teen was apparently able to get to a phone recently and contacted his mother with his whereabouts, authorities said.
Clayton County police went to the home on Friday to look for the 13-year-old but Mr Jean and Ms Davis said they had no information about the boy, Sergeant Hughes said.

House members began collecting signatures that same day while senators followed suit two days after. And already, 200 members and about 60 senators were said to have thrown their weight behind moves to oust the president.

The reason Why Obasanjo Is Fighting Jonathan

IT emerged at the weekend that recent outbursts by former President Olusegun Obasanjo against President Goodluck Jonathan stemmed from the latter’s refusal to implement a proposal from the former president in respect of the 2015 elections.

Sources in Abuja told Sunday Tribune that the former president had sent emissaries and also whispered to Jonathan that he would back his 2015 ambition if he (Jonathan) agreed to drop Vice-President Namadi Sambo as his running mate.

It was gathered that the former president had spoken in favour of Jonathan fielding Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, as his running mate.

OAU students reportedly boo, stone Jonathan; call president ‘ole' (Thief)

President Goodluck Jonathan got more than he bargained yesterday when he visited the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU).
The students who were apparently tired of Jonathan’s government could not hold back their anger as they stoned and booed the president chanting “Ole, Ole, Ole,Ole” which in Yoruba means thief.
Jonathan, who was at the OAU to attend a summit by a Yoruba group, had used the occasion to identify with the Yorubas as the 2015 general election approaches, praising the achievements of the Yoruba leaders in Nigerian history.
But the students of the university were not touched by his visit, as they displayed placards with inscription such as: “we are not responsible for Jonathan’s ineptitude”, “Don’t sell education like you sold electricity”, “We demand total reversal of 2014 hiked school fees” etc..

The students, who were later chased by security men also booed Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, who tried to calm them down.

Shocking: Two Of Femi Kuti’s Children Are Not His

Femi Kuti is upset and sad angry and betrayed at the moment. A DNA test was recently carried out by the father of 5 on his children, and it shows two of them, Dupe and Tosin are not his. He revealed this to Encomium few days ago in an interview, regretting why a woman should give him what is not is. Here’s how Encomium reports it;

Out of his alleged five children: Made, Afolabi, Dupe, Tosin and Ayomide, two of them, Dupe and Tosin (a boy and a girl) have been discovered not to be his biological children, according to a recent DNA test.  He confessed being disappointed and pained that a woman can actually give someone what does not belong to him.

“I did a DNA test and was told two of the children are not mine. The first two (after Made), a boy and a girl.  It is very serious.  I never knew somebody could give you what is not yours.  I’ve three boys now. I can’t father children I was tricked to believe I am their father,” he lamented.

Because of the betrayal, he returned the two children, Dupe and Tosin, to their mothers.

Funke, his ex-wife, gave birth to his first child and son, Made, who Femi treasures so much. And Bisi Ajala gave birth to Ayomide and one other child that the DNA test recently proved not to be Femi’s.  The third woman’s name was not revealed.

Why do some women cheat?

Ogwuche was never arraigned on terrorism - Nigerian Police

The Police High Command yesterday in Abuja has said they never arraigned Nyanya suspected bomber, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche who was recently freed by a court of law, but said the case against him was bungled and regrets that the media misled the public for so long. A press statement released by the command after the cut.

A statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu read: “The attention of the Nigeria Police High Command has been drawn to a most misleading media report that charges filed by the Nigeria Police at the Federal High Court Abuja, were struck out for lack of diligent prosecution in respect of the suspected terrorist Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche.

“It would be recalled that the Department of State Services (DSS), that had intelligence on the Nyanya Bombing and was investigating it, made a formal request to the Nigeria Police to assist in extraditing one Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche to Nigeria from Sudan, through the Interpol channel of which the Nigeria Police is well versed.

100 PDP Members Defect to APC In Rivers State

Chairman Committee of Akuku Toru local Government Council said that no fewer than 100 members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party decamped to the ruling All Progressive Congress in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers state.
Receiving the decampees at Abonnema during the APC sensitization dialogue on Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC),the Caretaker chairman of the Council, Mr. Otiasah Christian Livingstone said that the defection was a boost and a reassurance that the local government area is one of the strongholds of APC in Rivers.
He told the decampees that APC is a party hinged on liberty, equity, fairness and justice assuring that all the decampees would enjoy the same status with old members without discrimination.
The chairman also assured them that they would not be marginalized in the scheme of things, adding that, together APC will sweep the 2015 polls in Akuku Toru as well as in the entire Rivers state.
Earlier, Mr. Shedrack Aman who led the decamping PDP members said that they decided to decamp to APC having found out that the PDP do not operate based on fairness and justice rather it is made up of personality cults that pursue personal interest without regard to collectivity and the welfare of the people.
In a statement endorsed by Amusa David, Special Adviser to Caretaker Chairman on Media Adviser Publicity said that it was based on this and the handwriting on the wall that PDP will lose woefully in the state that motivated them to decamp to the winning party.
Aman said that he and his fellow decampees would work tirelessly to see that APC coast to victory in Akuku Toru local government area.

OAU, UNILAG Students Speak On Prostitution

Prostitution in Nigerian campuses has come to stay except God intervenes all we can do is pray. Pm News Campus Square went about to ask some students why they think prostitution is so rampant on campuses and what they think can be done to curb it and here’s what they have to say…

“Prostitution in our tertiary institutions is a trade that has grown to the extent that it demands serious attention from the government.

“It is a business which the culprits are sometimes not ashamed of. Prostitution is something that the government should really look into.

“But at the same time I am not surprised by the negligence of the government because when you investigate those patronising these young students, you will find out that they are our so-called senators, and government officials.

“They (government officials) are the ones that throw the parents of these students into abject poverty and at the same time destroy their children.

Twin Brothers Become Dads On The Same Day, At The Same Hospital

As twins they shared all the major milestones of growing up, but twins Jeromme and Jarrell Spence never expected to share the experience of fatherhood in quite the way they did.
Twins from Wolverhampton have defied odds of 150,000 to 1 to become fathers to baby boys on the same day.

UK Mirror reports that the twins were initially shocked when told their partners had the same due date of Nov. 26, but neither believed they would both be celebrating on that date. But remarkably, the pair became fathers within a few hours of each other when their sons were born at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton in the early hours of Monday.
Incredibly, both babies were born in the same water pool in the same room and were delivered by the same midwife.

How A Prison Guard Impregnates 4 Females In Prison

Four female prison guards were shamelessly impregnated by the guy pictured above in a prison in Baltimore. He is a gang leader so powerful he boasted in the jail, 'I am the law'.

The rough guy, identified as Tavo White, showered the female guards with gifts including cars and some very expensive diamond rings.

He reportedly made $16,000 a month from smuggling drugs and cellphones into prison with help from his accomplices.
In fact, Tavo White is so bad that an FBI wire tap captured White saying, ‘This is my jail. You understand that,’ and claiming to control everything from contraband to mob hits within the prison.
Four guards – Jennifer Owens, Katera Stevenson, Chania Brooks and Tiffany Linder – got pregnant for him while he was behind bars.

Owens had ‘Tavon’ tattooed on her neck and Stevenson had ‘Tavon’ tattooed on her wrist. The sad details came to light after authorities busted a major smuggling ring inside the prison – and 13 female prison guards, seven inmates and five co-conspirators face racketeering charges.

Guards allegedly smuggled hard drugs and mobile phones into prison in their shoes for the ‘Black Guerrilla Family’, a gang which also operates on the streets of Baltimore City.

Interestingly, the four pregnant ladies and other officers involved in the dirty deal have been suspended and the department are moving to fire them.

Obasanjo never wanted me as Oba therefore PDP will not rule Lagos – Akiolu

The Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has said the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will never produce a governor in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.
The monarch is known to have a cordial relationship with former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, incumbent Babatunde Fashola among other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Speaking as the chief launcher of the autobiography of the former President of the Court of Appeal, Mustapha Akanbi, at the Sheraton Hotels in Abuja on Wednesday, Oba Akiolu said Lagos would remain an APC state.
“Recently, I told Bode George, Koro (Musiliu) and Ogunlewe (Adeseye) that “Look at me o! You will never win Lagos. God will give us another APC governor”.

You May Cover Your ‘Evil Work’ Here, You Can’t Cover It Before God- Obasanjo Tells Jonathan

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has again torn at President Goodluck Jonathan, saying Nigerian democracy remained at risk due to the action of the present administration.

Speaking at a book Launch in honour of the pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, Mustapha Akanbi‎, in Abuja, Mr. Obasanjo, who is the Chairman of the occasion, said the president should stop encouraging ‘verbal violence which may not physically hurt but has ways of degenerating into physical violence’.

Mr. Obasanjo said the greatest indictment against any administration is to be seen trying to destroy opposition of all sort‎s which invariably mean destroying democracy.

“Management of democracy without resorting to brute force and dictatorial tendencies must be cultivated,” the former President said.

“As a leader, you must not deliberately do evil or condone evil. You should know that you will one day give account to God, you may cover up here, but before God, there is no cover up.”

The former president also spoke at length on the President’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency, ‎corruption, the economy and youth unemployment.

On insecurity, Mr. Obasanjo said Boko Haram is not out to “frustrate anyone’s political efforts” and lamented that it took Mr. Jonathan the years to ‎fully understand the menace.

On corruption, Mr. Obasanjo said, “when the head is rotten, the whole body is useless”

On the economy, he said Nigeria would continue to sink deeper and that what Nigerians are told about the state of the economy “is not truly what the economy is”.

“The economy is in doldrums, if not in reverse,” he said.

Mr. Obasanjo’s latest attack on the President is coming seven days after he rated Mr. Jonathan’s performance as below average.
