Buhari to meet, invite 22 aggrieved PDP aspirants to APC

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), will soon hold a meeting with aggrieved governorship aspirants in Akwa Ibom State.
The aspirants, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are considering defecting to the APC following the circumstances that surrounded the emergence of the eventual winner of the governorship primary, Udom Emmanuel.
They had earlier shunned invitation by the APC governorship candidate in the state, Umana Umana to join him in the opposition. But the contestants may take the option as a way to protest the manner in which the national leadership of the PDP is handling election that produced the former Secretary to Awka Ibom Government.
The meeting with Buhari is being facilitated by one of the APC governors in the South-South region.
The agenda, it was learnt, was to bring together all those who are opposed to the alleged imposition of Udom Emmanuel by Governor Godswill Akpabio on the people of the state. It is expected that the aspirants will at the planned special reception, adopt Buhari as their sole presidential candidate in next year’s election.
